Implementation of Simplified Customer Due Diligence Measures for Group Life and Health (GLH) Employer Cases

Introduction on Simplified CDD (SDD)* process (effective May 1, 2016)

  •   Manulife will be unable to renew a GLH policy upon the expiry of the policy if a policyholder cannot provide the required document/information under SDD
  •  To assist the existing GLH policyholders for fulfilling the SDD assessment, Manulife will schedule to send them an updated notification letter listing out the outstanding document/information, starting with those cases which will be due for renewal on December 1, 2016
  • To facilitate the implementation of the SDD assessment measures, please find below revised Customer Supplemental Information Collection Form

  • The timeline on following-up the outstanding SDD documents/information for New Business is set out in Appendix A
  • To ensure compliance with the AMLO, please note Manulife reserves the right to adopt the CDD process on any of the GLH policyholders, subject to individual circumstances
