Please note the below points:
1. A suitably certified copy of address proof, shows the name of the client and the permanent residential address. The address proof should be issued within three months.
2. If a Chinese address proof is submitted, please translate it into English. Then write the English address besides the Chinese address. Where a document submitted is not written in English, FPI require the certifier to explain on the document:
- What the document is
- Indicate where the applicant’s name and address is printed
- The certifier should also write a statement onto the document to the effect that:
Translation wording: ‘I certify that the English translation provided is a true translation of the relevant part(s) of this document: Signed: (the signature of the independent financial adviser)
Name: (the printed name of the independent financial adviser)
Date: (the date the independent financial adviser has certified the copy document)
3. Tax assessment document MUST be issued within the last 3 months
4. Please refer to List of acceptable address proof: "A tenancy agreement stamped by the Hong Kong Inland Revenue is acceptable".
5. Employer letter - as a valid documentary proof of address, FPI require to see the employer letter is signing by the person who is in appropriate position, i.e. human resources manager, the company chop is also require to appears on the employer letter and also should be in company headed paper.
*Please note: if the client is the owner/part owner of the company a letter from the company will not be accepted.
China ID as address proof for China application
FPI accept address proof issued by relevant parties. As the ID Card is issued by the Chinese government; genuine China ID (national identity card, residential ID card) will be an acceptable address proof providing the following conditions are met:
(i) The Company is satisfied that the address on the ID card has been verified by the issuing government authority. However, as we understand that the verification process varies between provinces, we therefore cannot summarily accept all of these China ID cards are acceptable proof unless we apply separate due diligence checks on a case-by-case basis; and;
(ii) Under prevailing AML regulations and HKFI guidelines, insurers cannot relinquish its liabilities and rely on third party distributors’ processes and must conduct our own due diligence checks in authenticating identity(ies) of the policy applicants. As such we are required by law to conduct separate checks on policy applicants’ identity(ies).
