Proof of address
A proof of address is required in all cases to evidence permanent residential address. A PO Box is not considered a residential address. It follows that, whilst it is very helpful to see evidence of the PO Box address, any submitted document that does not include the residential address does not count as evidence of residential address. A proof of address must be current, i.e. issued within the preceding 3 months from the date of out receipt of the application).
Originals & copies
Original documents are preferred. However, this may not be possible or convenient in which case copies are acceptable. However, any such copies must be certified to the same standard as passports or similar, i.e. they must be certified as a true copy of the original document, which was actually seen by the certifier, who should sign, date and state their name, company, position, business address and company "stamp" of the certifier (passports - certification should include a statement that the passport bears a true likeness to the individual). Utmost reserve the right to seek original documents for proof of address.
Language
English is the expected norm. Where documents are issued in another language, this will need to be translated by professional translators.
Requirements & options
Utmost must verify the identity and address of all individuals who are considered to be Verification Subjects (policyholders, directors, authorized signatories, beneficiaries, trustees and protectors). Whilst recognized as not being fool-proof a utility bill is the preferred document as, if genuine, in the normal course of events it evidences that there is a physical address and that the person concerned does use this as their permanent residence.

National ID cards etc as proof of address
Utmost will accept all European national and China national ID cards. A number of other countries have been looked at and are considered acceptable and these appear below: Kuwait; Bahrain; China (Green Residency Permit or Brown Work Permit); Japanese Alien Registration card; Singapore Employment Pass and Taiwan.
